Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Total driving time: Approx. 2–3 hours | Game drive duration: 4–5 hours

You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel in Arusha and transferred to the Trailark Tours and Safaris office for a short safari briefing and final trip arrangements. After the briefing, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park, traveling through scenic countryside with views of local villages and the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

A picnic lunch will be provided and enjoyed inside the park at a designated picnic site. After lunch, you will embark on an extended afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is well known for its diverse habitats, ranging from underground water forests to open savannah and the alkaline lake itself. During the game drive, you can expect to see large troops of baboons, blue monkeys, giraffes, elephants, hippos, and abundant birdlife including flamingos along the lakeshore. The park is also famous for its rare tree-climbing lions, which may be spotted resting on acacia branches.

In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and proceed to your accommodation. Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by an overnight stay in basic fixed tents equipped with beds and bedding, offering an authentic safari experience close to nature.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Crater Rim)

Total driving time: Approx. 3–4 hours | Activities throughout the day

After an early breakfast, you will depart Lake Manyara and begin the scenic drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes you uphill through lush highland landscapes and Maasai communities, offering excellent photo opportunities along the way.

Upon arrival in the conservation area, you will explore the Ngorongoro highlands, stopping at designated viewpoints along the crater rim to admire breathtaking panoramic views of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. This afternoon is dedicated to understanding the geological formation of the crater, observing wildlife from above, and enjoying the cooler highland climate.

Lunch will be enjoyed en route or at your lodge near the crater rim. The remainder of the afternoon is spent relaxing at the lodge or camp while enjoying views of the surrounding landscape. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged near the Ngorongoro Crater, allowing for an early descent into the crater the following morning.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park

Crater game drive: 5–6 hours | Drive to Serengeti: Approx. 3–4 hours

After an early breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best locations in Africa for game viewing. During the game drive, you have excellent chances of spotting the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the endangered black rhino—along with large herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, hippos, and flamingos around the crater lake.

A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic spot inside the crater, surrounded by wildlife and dramatic volcanic walls. After completing the crater exploration, you will ascend from the crater and continue your journey toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the vast plains of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Upon entering the Serengeti, you will enjoy a short evening game drive as you make your way to the camp. This first introduction to the Serengeti often includes sightings of predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Dinner and overnight will be at a safari camp inside or near the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Arusha

Morning game drive: 3–4 hours | Drive back to Arusha: Approx. 6–7 hours

The day begins with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park, the best time to witness predators returning from a hunt and herbivores grazing across the open plains. The Serengeti is world-famous for its vast landscapes and abundant wildlife, including large prides of lions, cheetahs scanning the plains, and massive herds of wildebeest and zebras depending on the season.

After the game drive, you will return to the camp for breakfast before beginning the journey back to Arusha. Lunch will be provided en route. You will arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable safari with Trailark Tours and Safaris.
